DIY Magickal “Lakshmi’ - Whipped Coconut Oil Body Cream
Welcome Back to Style Coven! Today’s project for Friday - Venus’ Day, is my own recipe for a luscious coconut body butter charged with the energy of the Goddess Lakshmi, the Hindu Goddess of fortune, beauty and all around good times. Jai Mata Lakshmi!
I have long used coconut oil on my skin and on my hair for it’s amazing moisturizing and anti-bacterial properties, so whipping it into a body butter made sense because when I’m moisturizing I prefer butter to a slippery oil
I buy coconut oil from Costco and whip it, that’s right, whip it like whipped cream and put in several drops of Lotus Attar (for Lakshmi).
If I want to “charge” the cream with magickal mojo, I simply put the jar on my altar and chant Laksmi’s “Beej” or seed mantra 108 times.
This is a photo of my personal “yantra” set-up. The yantra, or copper square with the symbols of Lakshmi sits on a copper plate because copper is a highly conductive. The yantra itself is plated with 24 C. because gold is the most conductive metal. To boost the “magickal” properties of the set-up, I have added magnets dusted with gold magnetic sand. Whenever I work with Lakshmi I always offer her fresh flowers in a vase and burn Lotus or Sandlewood Incense.
Next, I put the jar of the body butter on the altar and recite her “Beej” or seed mantra 108 times. Here’s a link it you want to hear it.
During the dog days of Summer, I store the jar of body butter in the fridge so it stays firm.
